Phew.. okay, so the previous blog post's rumor-in-question has been proven false.... so no Will Smith as Captain America. I can sleep easy now.
But now, the long-rumored casting of Johnny Depp (as the Riddler) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (as the Penguin) in the next Batman has been given more fuel for the fire. Michael Caine (who played Alfred the butler in Batman Begins / The Dark Knight) claims the rumors are true... and even cites a WB exec as a source.
Hmmmm....... thoughts?

Jonny Depp and P S Hoffman are great actors. As long as the script is good I would be fine with this casting. The only rumor that I keep hearing is that Angelina Jolie is Catwoman. In the Dark Knight Batman asks if his new suit can protect him from dogs and Lucius Fox says no but maybe from a cat (or something like that). This could be a hint at things to come.
indeed.. they are good with the foreshadowing, so who knows. i'm anxiously awaiting word on Nolan's status when he returns from vacation.
